Lesson 8: How to Change Text Case in Excel

 Today I am going to show you simple formula that are used to change text case.

Text Case

Whenever we type text in worksheet we use right case, but sometime we collect data from online and paste in sheet. Here what we see all text are written with uppercase means (All Words are in Capital Letters).

Sometime you will see all text are written with proper case means (First Letter of each Words in Capital letter). 

I am going to use three different formulas to change case for Upper, Lower and Proper.

Now I have written name in small letters in E Column 8 Row = E8 and to change all letters to capital in next column simply use equal sign (Case Name) (Cell Number) =UPPER(E8). In second image you will see name is appearing with capital letters.

Same rule will be applied for others also, just change the case name from Upper to Lower or Proper. If there is a list of names or sentences and you want to use proper case. You can add formula for single cell and just drag it to rest of cells, formula will be applied automatically.
