Insert Function
Insert function is used to add rows, columns, cells and sheets. Suppose if you have entries in ten cells and also you have added headers for that cell which is known as column.
Now you are thinking to add more rows, columns or just a single cell, for this you will have to use Insert Tab which can be found on top home menu bar.
Another way to use insert function is just (1) Select a Cell. (2) Right Click Mouse. (3) Click Insert (Pop up Screen will Appear).
Now there are four options Shift cells right, Shift cells down, Entire row, Entire Column. I have written numbers in three Columns E, F, G and two Rows 9,10. I am going to use these functions in (F9) cell.
In (1) Shift cells right function you can see that 2 is moved to G Column and 3 to H Column, but remaining numbers are in same cells.
In (2) Shift cells down function 2 is moved to 10 Row and 5 to 11 Row and other numbers are in same cells.
In (3) Entire Row function you can see new row is added and all numbers is moved to 10 and 11 Row.
In (4) Entire Column function you can see new column is added from left and numbers which was appearing in F, G is moved to G and H Column.
